It's been years I moved in and I am enjoying my life at Mix. There are always security guards in the building, and maintenance and leasing office team are very kind and helpful. My unit is clean and well lit with great view, and I can workout at gym 24/7 and do my work at a nice study room. If you are finding a room in downtown, I ll definitely recommend Mix.
Since moving here, the staff has accommodated when things need to be fixed. I was paired with the perfect roommate, who I deem a best friend, and I am grateful for the selection. The room and kitchen are spacious and allow one not to feel crowded or stuffed in their room. The amenities, such as the gym and pool, are excellent, and the building tends to regularly send alerts/ ask the residents how things are going and how they can improve.
Moving here was the worst decision ever. I had so many instances with management not taking my issues seriously, to the point my dad had to come speak with them in person, multiple times, for them to actually do anything. I asked numerous times for them to replace the carpet in my room because it smelled like pee from the previous tenant's pet (even though I requested a non-pet unit). They REFUSED to replace the carpet, only offering to clean it, which did not remove the smell, even after two cleanings. I was beside myself with how cheap and difficult they were being. I also filed multiple noise complaints, but no surprise, the noise did not stop, and then management tried to blame it on me, saying I was not tolerant enough of it. When I realized they were not going to do anything about my issues, I requested to move to a new unit and they still charged me a $400 moving fee. This place is absolutely awful. I've watched a resident let their dog pee in the elevator and not clean it, every weekend is a nightmare with long waiting times for elevators, and almost half the people you see in the building don't live there or aren't students. Every time you get on the elevator you're holding your breath hoping that it doesn't break down while you're in there, because there have been multiple times where people have gotten stuck in the elevators. There have been times where every single elevator has been broken and there is NO way to get to your unit because the stairwell doors are locked from the inside. The air filter for the unit looked like it had never been replaced since the building was built, the washers smell of mold and my clothes started growing mold on them and had a horrible smell stuck to them. This is the worst place I have ever lived and it is infamous for being one of the worst places to live at GSU. Please, do not move here!!
I’m a resident here and my friend went through the application process for next year. She worked with a girl named Jasmine and a guy that’s the leasing manager and I just don’t understand how they got their position with no customer service skills. They were so rude and not helpful to her. And this isn’t the first time I’ve heard this. I’ve also heard this from another Spelman resident. The only person in the leasing office that goes out their way and make sure you have a great experience is Zharia and Karliegh. Other than that the new people are very rude and unprofessional and they don’t care.. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE
For the love of god, do not live here. Not only was my apartment infested with mold, they told me and my roommates that it was our responsibility to clean it. The mold was airborne and growing on clothes and artifacts. The rent is gouging students and is quite frankly a rip off for the lack of care that the staff and maintenance team put forth.
I moved out July of 2023, and after months of contacting through phone and email regarding my missing security deposit refund, they have yet to do anything to help me. I had to inform them I will be pursuing a law suit in order to get any kind of help.
This place is a nightmare and I wish on no one to put their money and energy into living here.
If I could give this apartment 0 stars I would. Trash is backed up to my door and I live on a very high floor which has resulted to bugs in my apartment. This past weekend there was multiple huge Halloween parties which resulted in residents having to wait 30+ minutes for the 2 elevators that do work and the security just let anyone in during that time which is very unsafe. Parking is $200 a month for random people to come into the garage and park in reserved spaces and takes forever for security/management to call the tow company. Also, no matter how many times you tell them furniture is broken it won’t be fixed or replaced I moved to this apartment in August and my chairs are broken I’ve reported that about 3 times to different staff members and my chairs are still broken. If you are thinking of moving here don’t do it.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!! I stayed here through a partnership with my institution. There were issues upon issues! During move-in, our apartment was filthy! My mom and I IMMEDIATELY addressed it with Darryl, nothing was done. Fast forward, I moved out in May of 2023.
Months later, I get an email stating that I had a balance. Y’all…
The staff (or whoever did my walkthrough) REUSED pictures from my maintenance requests and used it as their own “evidence” to charge me for “cleaning fees.”
THANK GOD my parents knew the issues I had here and made me take photos of EVERYTHING and I did a full video walkthrough. They should be ashamed of themselves! TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR UNIT BEFORE YOU LEAVE.
It’s actually HILARIOUS that they thought I wouldn’t have evidence of my unit after moving out! Especially after seeing how the staff/property manager operates and handles certain issues. LOL!
I didn’t know that carts were available upon arrival. I thought people brought their own. Only found out when I went into the building and they were all being used. Long wait for the elevator. Only two of the three were working. Was quicker …
